When choosing the right health professional for your needs, there are many key factors to take into consideration. The provider’s education and background, the reputation of the facility and the recommendations of others all make a huge impact on what type of outcome you can expect. To ensure patients receive the highest quality care possible, Amir Marashi, MD, DDS and the team at Greater Charlotte Oral & Facial Surgery underwent the rigorous process of earning accreditation by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) for their second surgical facility in North Carolina.
Greater Charlotte Oral & Facial Surgery maintains two office locations – one in Pineville, which has already been AAAASF accredited, and another in Steele Creek, which has just earned the “Gold Standard” for quality patient care.
“In order to demonstrate the extent to which we focus on providing the safest and highest quality surgical experience anywhere, we recently completed the long and arduous process of becoming accredited by the AAAASF,” said Dr. Marashi. “We’re also the only oral and maxillofacial surgery practice accredited by AAAASF in both North and South Carolina.”
The Greater Charlotte Oral & Facial Surgery team strives to provide solutions to patients’ complex oral health problems, and provide a wide range of services, including wisdom teeth removal, dental implant placement, bone grafting, facial trauma surgery, corrective jaw surgery, and the treatment of oral pathology and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Dr. Marashi also provides patients with several surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including BOTOX®, fillers, facelifts, laser skin resurfacing, liposuction, and facial implants.
“We understand that patients want to find a surgical team that they feel comfortable with and that they trust to provide exceptional care,” said Dr. Marashi. “We felt that achieving accreditation for both our Pineville and Steele Creek offices would give patients added confidence in our care and help them feel more at ease when choosing our practice for their oral and maxillofacial surgery needs.”
The AAAASF aims to improve the quality of medical and surgical care in ambulatory surgery facilities across the country to provide patients with the highest level of patient care and safety. In order to be an AAAASF-accredited surgical facility, Dr. Marashi is required to hold hospital privileges for any procedure that is performed, use anesthesia professionals for deeper levels of anesthesia, maintain a safe surgical environment, equipment, personnel and surgeon credentials through specific standards, maintain the same standards as hospital operating rooms, and undergo rigorous peer review and data tracking covering more than two million procedures.
