Meet Our DoctorsMouhamadou Seydi, DDS Dr. Mouhamadou Seydi, DDS, is a full-time oral and maxillofacial surgeon at our Charlotte/Gastonia practice, where he began seeing patients in August. A graduate of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, Dr. Seydi has spent the past several years completing his surgical residency at Columbia University’s Harlem Hospital Center in New York City, where he gained advanced experience in trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, and pathology.Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Seydi was born to Senegalese parents and spent most of his life in the Midwest before heading to New York for residency. He holds dental licenses in North Carolina, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas, with additional licensure in New York, Florida, and West Virginia currently in progress. Dr. Seydi was drawn to P3 for its strong support system, excellent mentorship, and collaborative environment. He credits Dr. Marashi and Dr. Green for making him feel at home and is enthusiastic about starting his first private practice surgical role. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Seydi enjoys weightlifting, hiking, and exploring the outdoors—a perfect fit for life in Charlotte. Darriel Cannon, DDS Dr. Darriel Cannon is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina and his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. After receiving his DDS, Dr. Cannon completed his Oral & Maxillofacial surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center serving Los Angeles, California. During residency, Dr. Cannon received extensive training at Harbor-UCLA’s Pediatric Craniofacial Disorder clinic treating children who are medically compromised and/or have special needs.Dr. Cannon is trained all aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. His scope of practice includes dental extractions and wisdom teeth removal, outpatient IV sedation, oral pathology, orthognathic surgery, and maxillofacial trauma. Dr. Cannon’s clinical interests include minimally invasive and surgical treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders and full mouth rehabilitation with implant supported restorations. Beyond Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Cannon enjoys spending time with family, road cycling, mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and soccer. Dr. Cannon understands Spanish, can communicate in it and is currently working on becoming fluent. He loves exploring new cultures through language, travel, and cuisine. J. Marshall Green, DDS, FACS Dr. Green is a surgeon, educator, and author of many professional publications. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery as well as the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is fellowship trained in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is Double board certified specifically to perform Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery as well as the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition to these accomplishments Dr. Green served in many roles over two decades in the US Navy: Assistant Professor, Associate Program Director and Educator for the US Navy in the fields of complex facial reconstruction for our nations wounded warriors and other service members as well as veterans with Head and Neck Cancer. He has Cosmetic Surgery Procedures Certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Health Professions. Dr. Green lectures both domestically and internationally with previous trips to China as well as Australia, and Saudi Arabia. He has presented at dozens of meetings, written multiple articles and book chapters. He has previously held academic appointments at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, University of Miami - Miller School of Medicine and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Education And ResidencyDr. Green received his education from several institutions of higher learning including: The United States Naval Academy, University of Mississippi, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, Louisiana State University Health Science Center, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and the University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Green played Division I Football while at USNA, won 3 Commander In Chief trophies and 2 Bowl Championships. Dr. Green has received numerous awards including ESPN The Magazine Regional First-Team Academic All American, Jeffrey R. Korn Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award, Cmdr. Ralph Sentmann Award, Academy of Dentistry International: Terry Tanaka Student Humanitarian of the Year, AAOMS Dental Student Achievement Award, and Runner up for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: Laskin Award for Excellence in Journalism. InterestsAside from his professional life Dr. Green loves spending time with his wife Nicole and four children Savannah, John Marshall, Sadie, and Johnathan. Dr. Green has committed much of his time to international missions including travel to India, Peru, Guatemala, and Mexico as well as mobile free clinics here in the US. In addition, Faith is a very important part of Dr. Green’s life. He is actively pursuing a Masters of Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and serves the local faith community in a pulpit fill ministry run by Liberty University. |
