Dr. David Coviak at Greater Charlotte Oral and Facial Surgery in Charlotte, NC

David Coviak, DDS, MD

Dr. David Coviak, DDS, MD joined Greater Charlotte Oral & Facial Surgery in 2021 after being drawn to the area by his previous time spent living in Upstate South Carolina and by his commonalities with Dr. Marashi. “We care and it shows” is the mantra that Dr. Marashi established as the founder and medical director of Greater Charlotte Oral & Facial Surgery, and this vision is shared by Dr. Coviak. In all interactions with his patients, Dr. Coviak places his patients’ well-being first and engages all members of his patients’ care teams in pursuit of their health and happiness. He truly believes that treating all patients like family members is the only way to practice medicine.

Dr. Coviak completed his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Ascension St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital following receipt of his Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University and completion of a year of General Surgery training. Prior to this, like Dr. Marashi, Dr. Coviak underwent training at the University of Rochester. Following completion of his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Michigan, Dr. Coviak completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital, where he focused on the care of medically-compromised patients in the hospital setting. He is Board-eligible for the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and American Dental Association. Dr. Coviak maintains certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.

Dr. Coviak grew up in western Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 2008. He then moved to South Carolina and worked in IT for Clemson University, before returning to Michigan for completion of Dental School. Having fallen in love with the area, before leaving Clemson, Dr. Coviak vowed to return. Outside of work, Dr. Coviak enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and new son, William. He loves me being outdoors and active, particularly in water sports, but he also has a passion for watching college sports.
